Our work

The investigation matters more than the build.

Every one of these started as a sentence somebody said out loud about their week. What matters is not what got built, it is what we found when we looked. Twice the investigation ended somewhere other than where the client expected to end up.

Integration

Two systems that never agreed

The problem

Orders were keyed into one system and re-keyed into another. The two never matched, and month end meant reconciling by hand to work out which one was right.

What we found

Both systems already exposed the data we needed. Nothing had to be replaced, and the migration the team had been quietly dreading turned out to be unnecessary.

What we did

Connected the two directly, with any mismatch surfaced to a person rather than failing quietly.

The result

One entry, synced automatically, and a single set of numbers the whole team works from. Reconciliation went from a recurring argument to a non-event.

Recommendation

The project we talked them out of

The problem

A company had outgrown its spreadsheets and was about to commission a custom inventory system, with the budget already set aside.

What we found

The platform they were already paying for did most of it. What was actually missing was a connection to two suppliers and a report nobody had ever set up.

What we did

Recommended against the custom build. Connected the suppliers and built the missing report instead, for a fraction of the budget.

The result

They got what they actually needed in weeks rather than months, and kept the rest of the money. We would rather be right than be paid for the bigger job.

Customer portal

Customers calling for information you already have

The problem

The front desk spent much of every day answering where is my order, can you resend that document, and what do I owe.

What we found

The business already held every one of those answers. The gap was not the data, it was access to it.

What we did

Built a customer portal reading live from the existing back office system, with no duplicate data entry anywhere.

The result

Call volume dropped, and the calls that remain are the ones that actually need a person.

Partnership

Technology nobody owned

The problem

A patchwork of tools collected over years, an original developer long gone, and every small change waiting on whoever happened to have time.

What we found

Most of the stack was fine. The real problem was that no one was responsible for it, so nothing was ever improved and nobody could say what would break.

What we did

Took the estate over: documented it, stabilized it, then started a rolling queue of improvements prioritized against the business.

The result

A standing partner, a roadmap, and a number to call. Changes ship on a schedule instead of whenever someone finds time.

References

Want to speak to someone instead

These outcomes describe the shape of work we do rather than naming clients on a public page. If you would like to talk to a reference before committing to anything, ask and we will arrange one.

Not sure where to start

Walk us through your operation.

Show us the software you use, the spreadsheets your team relies on, the repetitive work, the things customers complain about, and the processes everyone has learned to live with. We will help identify where technology could make a real difference.

No project required. No software pitch. If we find nothing worth doing, we will tell you that.
